Overview

This session will review various anatomic subtypes of head and neck cancers and their therapeutic paradigms. Participants will explore radiation treatments used in head and neck cancers and approaches in preventing and managing related toxicities

Learning Objectives

1. Describe the different anatomic subtypes of head and neck cancers

2. Review the general treatment paradigms of head and neck cancers based on subtype

3. Identify the role of definitive, adjuvant and palliative radiation treatments for head and neck cancers

4. Recognize common side effects and strategies for managing toxicities associated with radiation treatments for head and neck cancers
