The Road To and From the Transplant Center for Patients with AML

Overview

Participants will explore the comprehensive transplant process for AML patients, including referral procedures necessary for successful transplantation. The session will dive into the complexities of developing initial transplant plans, encompassing donor searches and the management of pre- and post-transplant care. Additionally, the course will address post-transplant maintenance, focusing on strategies to prevent relapse and manage complications such as graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). 

Target Audience

This CME initiative was designed for oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, NPs, PAs, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with cancer.

Learning Objectives

1. Describe the process for referring AML patients to the transplant center
2. Identify potential barriers that might hinder a patient’s chances of receiving a transplant
3. Describe the key elements of a holistic pre- and post-transplant care plan
